One person who joined Pastor D.W.'s church last year is Heather,* a young woman with addiction issues. She had never liked church but sometimes attended with a relative. D.W. was able to connect and began discipling her.

Soon Heather met another young man D.W. had invited into the church. The two became a couple, studied the Bible with D.W., and eventually married.

Heather and her new husband made their final decision to give up their addictions and be baptized during the Final Empire evangelistic series. They became active members. Heather began a new life in Jesus and started teaching children’s Sabbath School.

Tragically, Heather was soon fighting for her life on a ventilator in the ICU. She contracted COVID-19, and it hit her hard.

D.W. and the whole congregation are praying for young Heather. “She may not make it. But we know that her salvation is there,” says D.W. “We have to praise God. Even if she dies, it’s a story of redemption.”

As Heather’s story reminds us, death can come at any time. Reuniting people with their Savior is urgent business
