Authentic and Discovery Mountain Reach Hundreds of Thousands on Pray.com

In just one day, the Voice of Prophecy’s flagship television and radio program, Authentic, gained more than 1,300 followers on Pray.com, a popular app used worldwide for prayer and faith-based media content.

Authentic, hosted by Voice of Prophecy (VOP) Speaker/Director Shawn Boonstra, went live on Pray.com on June 30. Now, six months later, the show has reached nearly 500,000 app users and gained more than 60,000 followers.

Discovery Mountain, VOP’s weekly audio adventure series for kids, went live on Pray.com just a day later. The Bible-based show has reached more than 100,000 people and gained more than 73,000 followers.

On November 24, Pray.com aired Authentic episode “The Art of Thanksgiving” on Sunday Service, the app’s weekly podcast “featuring some of the nation’s most renowned faith leaders.” Boonstra also appeared in Pray.com’s number one leader spot, and the app’s live show, PRAY Radio, played the Thanksgiving episode all day. 

Not only did the show gain more than 1,300 followers that Sunday, but listeners loved Boonstra’s comments on gratefulness.

“Sometimes, you’ll hear Christians refer to something they call ‘the peace that passes understanding,’ and this is what they’re talking about,” Boonstra voiced in the holiday episode, referencing Philippians 4:6, 7. “It’s the peace of mind you get when you realize that you’re a cosmic toddler with a heavenly Father—a personal God—a God who’s very interested in what happens.

“And the secret, according to Paul, is not only leaving the problems with God,” Boonstra continued, “but leaving them behind with an attitude of thanksgiving. In other words, be grateful for what you have.” 

One Pray.com member commented that they were in the hospital awaiting heart surgery when they listened to Boonstra’s message. 

“His voice is so peaceful and calming,” they wrote. “I have faith that Jesus is going to get me through this surgery.”

A second listener thanked Boonstra for emphasizing the importance of Thanksgiving, as it’s often overshadowed by the Christmas season. Another called the episode a “much-needed message.”

“GOD is an amazing FATHER,” they wrote. “May HE continue to speak through you.”

Pray.com contacted VOP a couple years ago, beginning ongoing conversations about collaboration, according to Roben Gomez, VOP director of media, programming, and production.
