I am a 47-year-old male and I have been a drug addict since age 14. I have been married twice and have three children and four grand children. And, although I am in prison, I know that I have people who love me. 

In saying this, I have been in prison most of my life, with this being my eighth time back there. But, for the first time in my life, I've found true love in Jesus.

My name is David and my story is very long. So, I will give you the short version of how I came to be a Discover Bible School student. My walk with God has been a long and challenging journey. I was baptized as a Catholic, raised a believer, and attended many Christian churches. I did some studies with the Jehovah's Witnesses and also attended a Lutheran church. I was reading the Bible for years as an adult. But, I never dedicated my whole life to Jesus and gave up my worldly ways.

The following is the continuation to our intro. It comes from a letter we recently received from one of our incarcerated students. I hope it is a blessing to you.

"When I was on the outside of prison, I was very evil. I didn't respect God or Jesus. I was stubborn, lazy, disobedient, and full of the lusts of this world. I never studied the Bible. I never opened it up to read a single word.

"I am 62 years of age (Hispanic), and the oldest of eight children. At the age of 13, my mom and dad divorced. My dad's sister started taking us to the Baptist Church here in Texas. After that I started going to church camps and Vacation Bible Schools. I was married at 15 years old and was pulled out of school and started working at the café where I met my husband.
